Six healthy reasons to eat watermelon

Big or small, seedless or not, red or yellow, nothing says summer like a big, juicy watermelon (or a seed-spitting contest off the deck). But there is a lot more to this melon than water. Turns out it’s packed with phytonutrients, vitamins A, C, and a good hit of potassium, plus some B6 and thiamine — everything except fat, sodium and calories. Cool.

Warning over processed meat in Canada

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a warning about certain processed meat products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The warning involves Casa Italia brand salami and prosciutto ham, several other brand meats, and Emma provolone cheese.

Indian Mystic Claims Not to Eat for 70 Years

An 82-year-old man in India is claiming to have not had anything to eat or drink since 1940 – and doctors from the Indian military are allegedly studying him to learn his secret.

The man, Prahlad Jani, is being observed in a Gurjarat hospital. Jani claims to be a breatharian – someone who does not need to eat or drink, because he draws nourishment from the air and meditation.
