Okay, so there’s spam mail that you get about lottery, inheritance, and viagra (always those, right?)

And then there’s Spam – like the delicious canned meat that comes in original and turkey and is good on sandwiches

So, where along the line did someone think of naming these things? Was one named after the other? If so, does that mean people really hate spam? And if it’s the other way around, why would someone name meat after something as annoying as spam?

Maybe it’s just coincidence – what are your thoughts?

Ground meat and bun, maybe a slice of cheese. Ideally there’s a pile of produce as well, but if not, so be it. The perfect burger doesn’t benefit from frilly accoutrements. Those “upscale” burger places that insist on embellishing with onion rings, gourmet cheeses, and herb-infused mayonnaise? They’re just showing off, like painting flames on a muscle car. The key to quality is in simplicity, and that’s what the best burgers have in common.
