The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a warning to consumers not to purchase or eat certain brands of bagged lettuce.
The ready-to-eat products may be contaminated with salmonella.
A number of brands of Fresh Express Romaine-based salads are included in a recall issued by the manufacturer, Fresh Express Incorporated.

OTTAWA — The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning the public not to consume a couple of brands of dry soup mix because of possible salmonella contamination.
The agency says some brands of Inovacure chicken soup mix, Proti diet chicken soup mix and None Chicken Noodle Soup Mix contain dry powder and paste hydrolyzed vegetable protein ingredients.

OTTAWA — The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning the public not to consume some potato chips because the products may be contaminated with salmonella.
It says the foods contain dry powder and paste hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP), ingredients which have been recalled in the U.S. and Canada by Basic Food Flavors Inc. due to salmonella contamination.

Canada has expanded its recall of processed food containing hydrolyzed vegetable protein that may be contaminated with salmonella.
The recall now lists more than two dozen items. But the recall could soon be more widespread, because HVP is a flavor-enhancing ingredient used in many packaged foods.
