Tim Hortons is finally setting up shop in Iqaluit, one of the last places in Canada where the iconic coffee-and-donut shop chain doesn’t have a foothold in the local market.

Tim Hortons officials announced this week that it’s teaming up with the North West Company to open three kiosks in Nunavut’s capital city starting in early December, creating the chain’s northernmost franchise.

Tim Hortons Inc. (TSX:THI) chief executive Don Schroeder is optimistic that a good year for Columbian coffee crops could mean the price of your morning cup of joe will hold steady for the foreseeable future.

While the head of Canada’s iconic coffee and doughnut chain didn’t make any promises about holding back from price increases, he did provide a glimpse of a brighter future for coffee lovers who were burned last year when a smaller crop and bad weather helped raise the price of a cup of coffee.

MONTREAL — Java junkies who win a Toyota RAV4 in the latest Tim Hortons roll-up-the-rim contest shouldn’t have to worry about the 2010 Toyotas r-r-rolling out of control down the highway.

In January, Toyota Canada announced a massive recall of approximately 270,000 vehicles to correct accelerator pedals that were sticking on eight of its models.

Company official David Gollom says the 2010 RAV4 was part of the recall, but that any problems with the model would have been corrected.

OAKVILLE, Ont. – Tim Hortons (TSX: THI.TO) is preparing to serve up a new restaurant format as part of its expansion plans over the next three years.

The new restaurant concept will be piloted in at least 10 existing locations. The redesign is intended to more sharply define Tim Hortons image with what the company calls “enhanced finishes, fixtures and seating areas.”

The iconic Ontario-based company known for its coffee, doughnuts and light meals says it expects 900 new stores of various formats by 2013.
